Polymer Coatings Based on Polyisobutylene, Polystyrene and Poly(styrene-block-isobutylene-block-styrene) for Effective Protection of MXenes

چکیده
MXene films with a conductivity of about 4000 S/cm were obtained on glass substrates following drop-casting method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) Raman spectroscopy. The polymer coatings polystyrene (PSt), polyisobutylene (PIB) tri-block copolymer styrene (SIBS) deposited their efficiency toward the protection MXenes against oxidative degradation was estimated at ambient conditions. A loss detected for PSt-coated after 220 days storage, while pristine stored 400 conductive resistivity increased 2.5 times. Nonpolar based isobutylene showed ability to protect from oxidation during long-term period. After coated PIB SIBS 1.8 1.4 times, respectively. results are interest expanding industrial application films, increasing operation simple coating nonpolar flexible polymers.

Medical applications of poly(styrene-block-isobutylene-block-styrene) ("SIBS").
Poly(Styrene-block-IsoButylene-block-Styrene) ("SIBS") is a biostable thermoplastic elastomer with physical properties that overlap silicone rubber and polyurethane. Initial data collected with SIBS stent-grafts and coatings on metallic stents demonstrate hemocompatibility, biocompatibility and long-term stability in contact with metal. SIBS has been used successfully as the carrier for a drug-...
متن کاملPolystyrene/wood composites and hydrophobic wood coatings from water-based hydrophilic-hydrophobic block copolymers
D. J. Gardner Department of Forest Management and Advanced Engineered Wood Composites Center, University of Maine, Orono, ME 04469, USA Abstract The combination of synthetic thermoplastic polymers and wood is normally problematic because wood surfaces are hydrophilic while typical thermoplastic polymers are hydrophobic. A possible solution is to use block copolymer coupling agents. In this work...
متن کاملDifference Between Styrene and Polystyrene
Styrene and polystyrene are two important organic compounds with a wide range of applications. The key difference between styrene and polystyrene is that it is the polymerization of styrene that forms polystyrene, a synthetic thermoplastic elastomer. Styrene is chemically called vinyl benzene and is among one of the oldest known vinyl compounds in the world. This aromaticcompound was first isol...

Magnetic properties of nanocomposite materials obtained by dispersing barium ferrite nanoparticles within polystyrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer, in the temperature range, 300 to 500 K are reported. The temperature dependence of the magnetization at saturation, averaged uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy, and coercive field of thick films are analyzed. A "matrix effect" was noticed w...
متن کاملThe development of a micro‐shunt made from poly(styrene‐block‐isobutylene‐block‐styrene) to treat glaucoma
Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness with ∼70 million people worldwide who are blind from this disease. The currently practiced trabeculectomy surgery, the gold standard treatment used to stop the progression of vision loss, is rather draconian, traumatic to the patient and requires much surgical skill to perform. This article summarizes the more than 10-year development path of a ...
